Do you? You have a Christmas party or are a guest at a wedding and you want to wear a beautiful party dress. As Sophie Stone, we have been sourcing our collections from the most beautiful sustainable brands for years. But every season we miss the perfect party dress. A dress you can wear to a wedding, a business occasion and during the holidays. But all dresses that look a bit 'glam' because of sequins and glitter are made of (new) polyester.

We thought that should be different. So we spent the past 1.5 years developing a fair, colorful and inclusive Sophie Stone party dress. For this we chose the beautiful, natural material Ecovero (Lenzing) combined with Japanese Cupro.

It turned out to be a wrap dress in sizes XS to XXL and Sophie Stone wouldn't be Sophie Stone if we didn't work our own colorful magic on it, she is therefore available in purple with turquoise, all purple or all turquoise.  

The dress was designed by fashion designer @studio_meike_nieuwenhuis and is made locally at @atelierjungles in The Hague by tailors with a challenge on the regular job market. The amazing photos were taken by photographer @angeladevlaming.

Materials & care
  • Material: 53% Cupro and 47% Ecovero Viscose (Lenzing)
  • Bemberg™ Cupro. Cupro fabric is also known as the most durable material in the textile industry (Bemberg is the original family name of the family that founded it). You can think of it as "vegan silk" because of its beautifully draping, soft and shiny fabric. It is also (despite the process) biodegradable, long-lasting, stretch-resistant, hypoallergenic and dries faster than most other fabrics. It is also easy to wash at 30 degrees. It is a plant-based fabric which is made from "cotton linters. These are usually discarded in cotton mills. Linters are the outer fibers that are still attached to the cotton seeds after the seeds have been defibbed for the first time. You can also get it from recycled cotton garments. 
  • LENZING™ ECOVERO™ is an eco-friendly alternative to regular viscose, made from wood from naturally grown, renewable and certified forests in Europe.

De feestjurk wordt met veel liefde gemaakt bij Atelier Jungles in Den Haag. Dit sociale atelier leidt kleermakers op met een uitdaging op de reguliere arbeidsmarkt.

De Sophie Stone feestjurk is gemaakt van een prachtige duurzaam blend van ECOVERO (een duurzamere viscose) en Cupro. Dit chique materiaal heeft een mooie, feestelijk glans zonder 'over the top' te glimmen.
