PRIVACY
Sophie Stone treats your details with the utmost discretion. All your details remain under our own management and we will never make them available to third parties, unless you have given us your explicit permission to do so. If you have ordered something, your address details will be passed on to the distributor. After all, they need to know where you live.Legal Grounds
According to privacy legislation, we must state the 'legal grounds' for using your data. We need your data because of the contractual agreements between you and Sophie Stone, such as your purchase of an item of clothing. This is the case with:
- Order

In addition, we may use your data for 'legitimate interests'. This means that we want to provide all our customers with the best possible personal service. In doing so, we always consider your privacy. This applies to:

We may also have a legal obligation to use your data, for example if we suspect fraud. And sometimes you have given us permission to use your data, such as when you sign up for the newsletter. We keep a careful record of this.
Who has access to your data?
We only pass on your data to other parties if this is absolutely necessary for our services. These parties are: delivery partners, payment partners and IT service providers. After all, our delivery partner has to deliver your order to the right address. Parties such as advertising agencies come into play when we show you targeted ads, for example based on your interest in certain products.
The parties who receive access to your data from us may only use it to provide you with a service on behalf of Sophie Stone. Some cookie developers have access to the data collected by cookies on our website. You can read more about this in our cookie statement. We never sell your data to third parties.
Where is your data stored?
We store your data in our own database and apply strict security measures.
How long do we keep your data?
We do not store and use your data longer than necessary. Then we delete all the data we have on you. Or we may use your data anonymously, as we need certain data for internal analysis and reporting, such as the value of your order.
- We delete inactive customer accounts after 7 years. After this period, we will only use your data in an anonymous form for internal reporting.
- The tax authorities require us to keep our records of your invoice, payment and order data for 7 years. After that, we only use anonymous data for internal reporting. You should also keep the invoices of your purchases for when your guarantee expires, for example.
- If you have subscribed to the newsletter or given your consent to receive personalised messages, we will retain that consent for 5 years. If at any time you decide that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or personalised messages, we will retain the withdrawal of your request.
- This privacy policy was last amended on 15 May 2018.
