Sustainable winter coats from Embassy of Bricks and Logs

Embassy of Bricks and Logs is a German vegan outdoor brand focused on making warm, sustainable winter coats. The brand in was founded in 2015 by Niko Vatheuer and has since formed a small team together with his wife Anna, who is a fashion photographer, and Eric Mirbach, founder and publisher of the sustainable fashion and lifestyle magazine Vegan Good Life. Embassy of Bricks and Logs focuses first on design and in its next step on making winter coats that are as sustainable as possible without compromising on quality. The winter coats are made of the best quality so they last a long time. Because of the longevity, the brand fits well into the world of slow fashion.

Innovative vegan materials

Embassy of Bricks and Logs' vegan winter coats are made from recycled and PETA-approved vegan materials. The padding in the jackets is the innovative 'E100 No Down' material, made with recycled PET bottles from the ocean. In addition, since FW20, the brand has developed an innovative faux fur, also made from recycled PET bottles, that is as soft as animal material. The lining is made of recycled polyester.

Embassy of Bricks and Logs is looking for new more sustainable materials to use every season. As soon as more sustainable fabrics are available, the brand will choose them. The goal was for the fall/winter 2020 collection to consist of 80% recycled and organic materials, but this percentage actually ended up being 93-95% sustainable materials. At Sophie Stone, we think this is quite an achievement!

Fair production

The collections are designed in Germany and produced in China. Embassy of Bricks and Logs is very transparent about their production process and visited the Chinese sewing workshops themselves in 2019. They consciously work together with small sewing workshops that pay attention to a socially responsible way of working, need the work and like to grow with you. This way, you can be sure that your favorite winter coat has been produced in a fair way.

Embassy of Bricks and Logs seals of approval.
