Shop (vegan) Veja sneakers at Sophie Stone
One of the biggest misconceptions about Veja is that it is a vegan sneaker brand from the start. The big V that is stitched on almost every shoe stands for Veja and therefore not necessarily Vegan. But don't be alarmed because 1 in 4 Veja sneakers is indeed vegan. This means that no animal material such as leather has been used in these designs. Sophie Stone has selected the cutest (vegan) sneaker models for spring/summer 2023 for you.
- Vegan Veja SDU RT B-mesh
This Vegan Veja model with a mega technical name consists of a lot of innovative materials together. The material on the outside of the shoe is made of B-Mesh. This is a fabric made from recycled plastic bottles and is breathable and water repellent at the same time. Fun fact: as many as 3 bottles are used in a pair of Veja sneakers. Furthermore, the shoes consist of panels of vegan suede, the sole is made of wild rubber from the Amazon and the jersey fabric on the inside is made of organic cotton and recycled polyester.

- Vegan Veja Nova sneaker
Launched in 2019, the vegan Veja Nova consists mainly of organic cotton. Only the insole and outsole are made of wild rubber that Veja is known for. Both the wild rubber and the organic cotton come from Brazil where, by the way, the Veja sneakers are also made.

The bestseller Veja V-10 for women and men
Veja V-10 is and remains the number 1 among all Veja models worldwide. And that is why every season we replenish the stock of this model nicely. The outside of the shoe is made of leather and the lining inside the shoe is made of organic cotton and recycled polyester. As with all Veja shoes, the sole is made of wild rubber. Veja V-12 for women and men
The Veja V-12 model is often identified by the suede panels on the toe or on the heel of the shoe. Furthermore, the shoe is made of B-mesh which we wrote about earlier in this blog post. The inside is made of organic cotton and recycled polyester and the soles are again made of wild rubber. You can shop the Veja V-12 model for men and women at Sophie Stone.
The new Veja Venturi model
The Veja Venturi goes well with the current street scene and is definitely my new favorite. Because the bigger the design of the shoe, the better. On top of that, this model runs very nicely due to the chunky sole.

Veja Campo sneakers made of chrome free leather
Veja Campo is a new model made of Chrome free leather and this is a more durable choice. The leather is soft, smooth and slippery. In fact, most Veja sneakers are made of regular leather, of which only 10% is naturally tanned leather. This used to be 50/50 but Veja is very transparent about this not being the case currently. Leather tanning uses chemicals and with Veja Campo and does not.

After 5 years of research, Veja has finally found a good alternative to leather. A vegan and biologically produced material called C.W.L. This material is made of 50% corn waste and 50% polyurethane. Both of which are biodegradable materials. Unlike many other "plastic" materials. I am hugely curious to see what steps Veja will take further in this corner.
