What is Acetat (Eastman Naia™ Renew)?

What is Acetat (Eastman Naia™ Renew)?
Acetate is a textile fiber of natural origin, in short, a luxury alternative that is wonderfully soft to the touch. Eastman Naia™ Renew is an innovative variant: this fiber consists of 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% certified recycled plastic waste. So smart use of materials, with less damage to nature. Mixed plastic waste, even plastic you can't normally recycle, is converted into an important building block for fiber. That method is called Carbon Renewal Technology (CRT), dit makes it a circular, traceable and biodegradable material with a much lower carbon footprint.Eastman Naia™ Renew is not only durable, but also very comfortable: it feels silky smooth, is skin-friendly, hypoallergenic and effectively controls moisture and odor. So ideal for clothes worn close to the skin!

ARMEDANGELS, a pioneer in more sustainable and fair fashion, incorporates Eastman Naia™ Renew into a variety of styles. A great example is the JONVAALI an elegant pair of pants made from 100% Naia™ Renew acetate. These pants feel wonderfully soft, fall smoothly and have that subtle luxurious sheen that makes acetate so beautiful, but with a much smaller carbon footprint.
With viscose, you can think of deforestation and chemical pollution. Not so with Acetat (Eastman Naia™ Renew). It is transparent from start to finish, from wood to clothing, and it is biodegradable.

Washing of Acetate (Eastman Naia™ Renew)
In a nutshell: this material is specially developed so that it can withstand frequent washing and is therefore easy to maintain. Eastman actually positions the fiber as "easy-care" and suitable for home washing without much risk of pilling or warping. This makes it less delicate than many traditional acetate fabrics.
Wash at up to 30 °C on a gentle or hand wash cycle, inside out and preferably in a laundry bag, such as the Guppyfriend which we offer in the store. This catches loose fibers and protects your clothing, keeping it looking nice longer.
Use mild liquid detergent and low spin. Do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Hang or let item dry flat, out of the sun. Iron at low temperature on the inside or with a pressing cloth.
