Organic Basics

Quality basics made from sustainable materials produced in a fair way. That is what the Scandinavian brand Organic Basics stands for. With an eye for timeless design and functionality, Organic Basics designs sustainable underwear, basics and sportswear made from organic and recycled fabrics. The result is a collection of fine basics that you will enjoy for a long time.

Durable underwear

Organic Basics' underwear collections are divided into three sustainable fabrics: organic cotton, Tencel™ and recycled nylon.

  • Organic cotton - The organic cotton from Organic Basics is grown on the Aegean Sea and is known as the softest and most sustainable cotton in the world. In addition, it is GOTS-certified.
  • Tencel™ - Tencel™ is a wonderful fabric that feels softer and lighter than cotton, making it a fine fabric for underwear. In addition, Tencel™ is made from wood from sustainably managed forests and uses about 80% less water compared to cotton plants.
  • Recycled nylon - Organic Basics' recycled nylon is GRS certified, uses 80% less water and produces 90% less CO2 emissions than conventional nylon. The Invisible collection is made of seamless recycled nylon (organic cotton crotch) which is ideal for tight clothing or translucent summer items.

Sustainable sportswear

In addition to sustainable underwear, Organic Basics also designs fine sustainable sportswear. The sportswear collections are made of SilverTech™, which means the items are treated with Polygiene® Stay Fresh technology. This ensures that the fabric breathes and wicks away sweat. Very nice, because this keeps your favorite sportswear extra fresh for a long time and you don't have to wash it as often.

Fair production

Organic Basics' collections are produced in certified factories in Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Austria and Scotland. These ateliers share the same sustainable vision as Organic Basics and are constantly trying to reduce their carbon footprint. In addition, each factory is GOTS and SA8000 certified, which means that employees receive a living wage, work in a safe workplace and no child or forced labor takes place.
