Sustainable trends Spring/Summer '20

Our favourites

Summer 2020, the start of a new decade. The fashion industry is especially concerned with sustainability and this is reflected in the trends of SS20. The fact that sustainability and functionality go hand in hand was also evident on the catwalk. The collections shown were more than ever about wearability, classic styles and functional design. What are our favourite sustainable trends?

To begin with, tank tops tank tops & body tops were represented on the catwalk in many different ways. Scoop neck, sleeveless and more? A fitted fit accentuates your silhouette and a loose fit looks more casual. Will you choose a print or would you rather have a plain one? That depends entirely on your personal style! A plain top in a nice colour is the safe but always good choice and a print brings just that little bit more dimension to your outfit. Take for example the Aari Stripes Top of ARMEDANGELS, made of 100% organic cotton.

A second trend is that of minimalist dresses. If the catwalk is to be believed, minimalism is still a major influence in the world of fashion. For dresses this means: plain colours & interesting shapes or simple silhouettes. From Jan n June, we have a beautiful minimalist maxi dress in our collection: the triangle dress. This lovely summer dress comes in black and rust.

The Cutout dresses We are going to see a lot of cutout dresses! The nice thing about this trend is that a unique cutout detail can turn a simple dress into a statement. For example, the elegant Reginaa dress from ARMEDANGELS with cutout detail, made of EcoVero and Tencel. Prefer a more connected model with a see-through front and back? Then go for the Sheila dress from Alchemist

Another great thing about the cutout is that it doesn't only work super well for dresses, also tops with a cutout make an impression. The Saava top from ARMEDANGELS is a perfect example! Another favorite with a cutout in the back is the Amal Top from Jan 'n June, this simplistic beautiful tank top is made of recycled polyamide and elastane.

Complete your outfit by matching the Saava top with Kallaa shorts!
