In this new blog we would like to tell you more about the beautiful brand Alohas.
Alohas: made in Spain, inspired by Hawaii
Alohas has become a popular sustainability brand in just a few years. In fact, the brand was only founded in 2015. That's when Spanish founder Alejandro Porras became inspired while traveling in Hawaii. He wore Avarcas sandals during that trip, and many locals responded enthusiastically to these shoes. These shoes are mainly known for their simplicity and ease of use. Alejandro saw a market in this and, with a small team, decided to put a spin on the traditional espadrille shoes. This went well and in the following years Alohas was able to expand the collection considerably. All with the goal of daring to combine sustainable and stylish. Alohas is headquartered in Spain, and all production also takes place in Spain. The design process begins in Barcelona. Then the entire production takes place in Alicante. Due to the short distance, the workshops are visited regularly.
Environmentally friendly materials from Alohas
Alohas has both leather and vegan shoes. They are constantly working to make their collection more sustainable, and so is the leather they use. For example, Alohas works with a number of suppliers certified by the Leather Working Group. They are the world's largest leather sustainability program. Alohas becomes more sustainable every season, and so they try to work more and more with certified suppliers. For the selection on sale at Sophie Stone, we have specifically chosen models whose materials come from certified suppliers. This way we can be sure that the leather is obtained in the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way possible.
